Authentic Puerto Rican!
A Celebration of Puerto Rican Culture, Flavor & Community Since 1987
The name “La Marginal” has its roots in a short frontage road off Avenue Baldorioty de Castro in the Miramar sector of San Juan, Puerto Rico. With a spectacular view of the Condado Lagoon and its luminescent reflections of bright lights framing the upscale hotel and residential Condado area across the water, this tiny strip of road emerged as the weekend hangout spot “par excellence” for college students and other adolescents from the early 1960 to the mid 1970’s. First, simply a relaxing gathering place to spend time with your “panas” (friends) or “jeva” (girlfriend), walking or in your car, it was soon transformed into a full-blown party place, attracting food trucks and stands to offer fried foods, sandwiches, ice cream, and beverages.
